ABOUT THE FEBRUARY ROOM

A cirrostratus cloud slithers through the valley like a snake. A low winter sun tries to break through the atmospherical muck, but with just a few hours of daylight, the solar warmth peters out. As darkness falls, the mercury dips back below the ’20’s, and a Pendleton blanket provides shelter from the storm.  It’s February in Montana. At times the low lying inversion tends to seep into the bones and psyche of the year-rounders, the residents who live here. The only way to keep oneself from succumbing to the doom-and-gloom, is to find a warm light, a spark, a fire within, and conjure memories of bright days on the Blackfoot, Baja, or Belize.

An angler needs a place for a mind to wander, and drifts down into a basement teeming with flashabou, foam, elk hair,  googly eyes and a vice. This feathery room is nicknamed , “The February Room,” and within these confines, friends gather, stories unfold and the truth comes out!

Here, anglers from across the globe share their stories and backgrounds as we dig deep into the wild world of fly angling. This is not simply a sit down conversation, but a fully edited format utilizing a combination of music and sound effects to set the mood, accentuate the story and bring fishing adventures into your own

February Room.
